A Celtic festival celebrated for over 2,500 years by the brotherhood of druids. Originally, amongst the Celts, this festival marked the end of the year, when a passage between the two worlds was possible. It was only at this time that they could pray to the god of Death, ‘Samain’, by burning pumpkins. Legend has it that malevolent and terrifying spirits would take advantage of this to come and terrorise human beings. Frightened by these visits, the Celts came up with the idea of dressing up as hideous monsters and old witches in order to ward off the evil spirits. Little by little, this festival spread across the world and the hunt for spirits turned into a hunt for sweets!
So, hurry up and choose your scariest costume, prepare plenty of gruesome pumpkins to decorate your mobile home, and fill your bowls with treats – unless you want to fall victim to the spells cast by the cute little monsters who’ll be roaming the Siblu Villages campsites in search of sweets.
