This lively holiday park in the seaside resort of St Jean de Monts is very popular with our Irish guests. A relaxed drive from the northern Brittany Ferry ports, Le Bois Dormant offers a great family holiday, close to long sandy beaches. The pool complex at Le Bois Dormant includes a heated outdoor pool, racer slides and a heated paddling pool for younger kids. There are also free children's clubs and evening entertainment, a playground and sports pitches. Phew!
The park is only 2.5 km from the beach, with a shuttle bus taking guests during the summer months. Or, you can take to two wheels and follow the network of brilliant cycle paths through a pine forest to the nearby seaside resort of Saint Jean de Monts. Your kids will love the fairground-style big wheel which gives you brilliant views over this charming little town.
When you stay at Le Bois Dormant, you also get free access to all the amazing facilities at our neighbouring Siblu park, Le Bois Masson, which means extra pools, slides and sports!

The French Atlantic Coast is an unknown gem to most British. Only a 7-9 hour drive from Calais and much nicer and quieter than Cornwall or Devon etc. This was our 4th visit to Siblu Camps. The mobile homes have always been in excellent condition, well equipped and come with a BBQ too! Evening entertainment and kids clubs available although most is completed in French but most reps are fluent in English.
Long empty beaches and miles and miles (or should I say Km & Km) of cycle tracks (Vende a velo) and lots of local towns, crazy golf courses etc. make for great family day outs. I recommend bringing your own bicycles although there are many rental agencies too.

A really lovely site with a great pool and close to the beach. Our caravan was really clean and everything was great. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an enjoyable holiday for the third year and wanted to rebook for next year but was disappointed when the staff couldn't understand English and I was given 3 different quotes. I've emailed my query and still not heard from Siblu so am disappointed. The email you sent with 30% discounted offer doesn't work so I'm concerned we have missed any offers for next year

Caravan was clean and tidy and patio / awning was great
Caravan toilet was too small.
Smoke alarm went off at 3:00am two nights running, due to low battery
Pool complex and water aerobics was excellent
Evening entertainment seemed limited,

No information given on arrival about the camp it general area. Whilst caravan was very clean, our pitch was littered with cigarette butts outside on arrival. Juliette in Reception was lovely whereas other reception staff were very 'dry'. Pool area was very good, one football pitch definitely not enough as was always taken by older children. We enjoyed our stay however.
Colin
Friendly supportive cheerful staff

A very good complex. Enjoyed our stay. Will be going again next year.

Overall a pleasant stay.

Caravan and holiday park both very good. Siblu staff at park are very good. Kids loved the pool. Lots to do in the surrounding area. We have booked again for next year. Highly recommended.
Only slight criticism was the shop was a little poorly stocked however there are supermarket s near by
Shane
Fantastic location. Service was good. Shop needs more produce as ran out of basics, like Milk Bread Butter everyday.
Too many Boisterous ball games by teenagers in main pool affected family time with children. Pool guards need to be in more control.
Was charged different prices for the same drinks every time We purchased them. Its either costing you or the holiday makers money. Bar ran out of Lemonade an Hoogarden lager, it wasn’t replaced.
However the stay was enjoyable and we had a great time. You just need to tighten up on the basics.

Only issue - no wine glasses in chalet

Awesome holiday , your staff make the difference , bar staff, entertainment staff, reception staff, grounds personnel, you were brilliant. Without you, Siblu is nothing. You clearly enjoy what you do and enjoy working for your company, fabulous job !!! Thank you xxxx
Fiona
Really impressed with cleanliness of site and polite staff. Disappointed with lack of information about local area and in case of emergency. Wine in the caravan on arrival was a lovely touch!

Overall very nice complex, minor point that the non shoe area at the pool was dirty, just needed to be hosed down more often.
Great that the pools were heated. Entertainers did not always bother with the English translation which is a shame for the kids more than anything.
James
Cleaner toilets

The pro's:
- the ents team - great bunch. Work tirelessly and always have time for the kids. Talented bunch also!
- the standard of mobile home - we purposely selected a new model and it did not disappoint.
- pool. Loved the warm temp and slides.
- reception staff were great!
- scheduling. lots to do and liked the updated postings.
The cons:
- site is so dark once sun sets. The entertainment area needs lighting. Kids were tripping up all over the place. Also not safe to lets kid wander in the dark.
- too much traffic. Again, not safe to let kids go anywhere alone as roads are constantly busy with cars. I would suggest footpaths are put in place separately from roads or perhaps have pedestrian only paths through the site.
- bar prices. Ridiculously expensive. As a result we did not use the bar as it was cheaper to go into St. Jean De monts for an evening out.
Overall, we would likely select another site for our next trip to France with our small children as we prefer a bit of freedom for the kids to be able to move around themselves. The site just does not give that "safe" feeling unfortunately.

Staff in bar and takeaway were rude and unfriendly. The tables were left uncleared. Swing pool entrance was dirty especially on-site bathroom. The pool is far too small for peak holiday season. There should be at least one more football pitch. Our mobile home had untidy covers on the sofas. I had to buy knives and chopping boards as none were provided. The washing machines broke down and flooded to washroom . I paid in advance for on-line check n and deposit but when we arrived after tiring ferry crossing and drive there was no dedicated queue for those who had booked on-line. The staff in reception were very pleasant and helpful.
Craig
I would recommend the location and facilities to anyone. The staff and the accommodation were great

Guests can also head over to the larger entertainment venue at Le Bois Masson, which is our sister-site over the road.
The Les Bois children's club is split between the 2 twin villages. Sometimes in Dormant, sometimes in Masson, there's no shortage of places for children to have fun. For those looking to explore the present, there are almost 30km of safe cycle paths just 200 metres from Le Bois Dormant, and leading through forest, along the Atlantic coast and into the Poitevin marshes that are also known as Green Venice.
There is a duty manager who will be available outside of the main reception hours.
